Palancar Reef
Palancar Reef private snorkel tour
Coral walls, turtles, your own boat

What to expect
Palancar Reef is part of the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. Under the surface you'll find coral formations in every shape, schools of tropical fish and, with a bit of luck, sea turtles and eagle rays. On a private charter your captain picks the shallow section that matches the day's current and your group's comfort level, so beginners and experienced snorkelers both get the best of it.
What is included
Your charter includes a licensed bilingual crew, full snorkel gear with life vests for every guest, an open bar (beer, soft drinks and bottled water) and snacks or food depending on trip length. Towels, a cooler with ice, fuel and Bluetooth music are part of every trip. Taxes are included.
Best time to go
Palancar can be snorkeled year-round. Mornings usually bring the lightest wind and the best visibility, which is why most of our reef trips leave between 9 and 10 am. During winter months the water is slightly cooler but often clearer. Your crew checks conditions every morning and will suggest the calmest reef section for the day.
How long the trip takes
A 4-hour charter covers Palancar Reef plus a second stop, usually El Cielo or a calm bay. With 6 or 8 hours you can snorkel two reef sections, add a beach break and still cruise back slowly along the coast. The ride from the marina to Palancar takes roughly 30 minutes, and every charter returns cruise passengers to their pier at least one hour before all-aboard time.
